Year 7 Term 1 Science

The year 7 cohort have had a wonderful introduction into the world of Science. As pictured the students from 7A were doing an experiment to find out what happens when a small balloon is heated in water. Most of them successfully observed the weighted balloon expanding and some groups even saw the balloon begin to float.

Year 10 Basketball Clinic

The Year 10 students had the opportunity to be coached by retired NBL champion and coach Warwick “Wazza” Giddey on Monday the 4th of March. Warwick is now an education ambassador for Melbourne United (NBL team) and running clinics is a part of his role. Each Year 10 class had a forty minute session with the ex-champion basketballer who covered dribbling, passing and shooting with the students.

The students were impressed by the skills and height of the giant basketball star (196cm). The HPE department would like to thank everyone involved with the day. The students represented the college well and were happy to gain some elite basketball knowledge. It was a great event for the college that we hope to repeat in the coming years.
